PICK A BAR STOOL...ANY BAR STOOL!
Of all the pieces of furniture that are considered “must have’s” which you are pretty much required to buy when decorating your home… I would have to say bar stools! would definitely be in the top 3!! Personally, I feel like the kitchen is pretty much the heart of the home and the place where all the action happens! I mean seriously, how many times have you had a get together where everyone is just crowded around the counter pretty much the majority of the party. So, in my professional-ISH opinion, I think the bar stool you select is a HUGE deal!! Read along for tips on making this major purchase! No pressure!!
Step 1: Determine the height of your counter. If your counter is at least 40” in height, you will need a bar height stool. If your counter is 36” or shorter, you will need a counter height stool!
Step 2: Determine the height of the stool you are interested in. This is important because If for some reason you find something you like, and they don’t just outright label it as a counter height or bar height, you can determine yourself as long as you know the dimensions! Last thing you want is your guests sitting in a stool that’s too low, or too high!
Counter Height Stool: Measures 25” from the floor to the bottom of the seat.
Bar Height Stool: Measures 30” from the floor to the bottom of the seat.
Step 3: Decide how many stools you will need. If you have a gigantic genetically modified counter like mine… 1 or 2 bar stools isn’t going to cut it!!! Seriously y’all, our counter is SOOOOOO HUGE (it’s 11 feet in length)!! But you know what they say… the bigger the better, so I’m definitely NOT complaining!
Typically, there should be at least 6” in between each stool. That way it doesn’t look crowded, or too spaced apart!
Step 4: Decide on what style stool you want. This is definitely a personal preference and should just match the aesthetics of your home, your personal style, and should be COMFY!
So no matter what your style…..
Just make sure before you add any of these lovely stools to your cart … you grab that tape measure and confirm if you need bar height, or counter height!
