Netflix (and Hulu) Top Romantic Movies: Mrs. All Pink Everything Approved

Let’s talk hobbies! Whenever someone asks me what my hobbies are, I always give my socially acceptable response, “baking, experimenting with new recipes, decorating, reading, etc.” But If I’m being totally honest… my top favorite indoor pastime is watching TV. There. I’ve said it, and it feels GREAT to finally just put it out there! I mean let’s just call it what it is… watching TV is generally “frowned upon” and seen as a major time waster! Bottom line, this in fact IS one of my top hobbies, and not only that… I am REALLY good at it! A lot of people in my social circle come to me for TV and movie recommendations. So I’ve decided I am going to embrace it, stop being ashamed, and start sharing with everyone else so you too can have a great TV experience! I am going to start sharing twice a month my thoughts on the most interesting movies/tv-shows that I have recently watched. This article will focus on romantic comedies! Disclaimer: I will not be able to help you with movies that are scary, about war, anything super natural, or too action packed! However, if you are into romantic comedies, dramas, teen romance, and pretty much anything warm and fluffy… I’m your girl!

Always Be My Maybe

If you like rom-com’s about childhood sweethearts that don’t realize they’re supposed to be together until their mid-30’s… this is the movie for you!! This movie had me laughing almost every other scene! Seriously. I laughed the ENTIRE movie! With major comedy heavy hitters like Ali Wong (American Housewife), and Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat), they make sure not to disappoint on the laughs! On top of this being a hilarious movie about finding love, they also manage to mix in a lot of funny digs about trendy restaurants and fine cuisine! Trust me… if you haven’t watched yet, check this one out TODAY!! Bonus: AMAZING Soundtrack!

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

OK, there’s not really a warm and fuzzy way to say this, so I’m just going to get into it. This movie is about a serial killer. Specifically, Ted Bundy. I know you’re probably thinking... how is this a love story?!?! So, here’s the thing… the movie is not so much about all of the killings as it is the actual love story between Ted and the only true love of his life, Elizabeth Kloepfer. They really focus more on Ted being in love and desperately trying to have a normal life with Liz, and even her daughter. At one point in their relationship, they were even talking marriage!!! This movie accomplishes both telling a love story and giving a bit of history on Ted and the killings. I would say this is a great date night movie, because I’m sure your hubby or boyfriend would love a night off from watching the traditional rom-com! Bonus: Zac Effron. Enough Said!

Addicted to Fresno

This is a dark comedy that will have you laughing at almost every single scene! With an all-star cast that includes Judy Greer, Natasha Lyonne, Aubrey Plaza, Ron Livingston, and Fred Armisen this movie does not disappoint! There are multiple story lines throughout the movie that focus on addiction of some sort and love/relationships. Judy Greer and Natasha Lyonne are sisters that are living together and trying to make the best of a bad situation. After a crazy accident, they have to rely on each other to come up with a plan to get themselves out of a very bad situation. Each plan… more ridiculous than the last! Bonus: Molly Shannon!

Amanda and Jack Go Glamping

This is a comedy about a couple whose relationship is on its last leg. As a last-ditch effort, they decide to go on a glamping trip. To say this trip was an utter and complete disaster would be an understatement! I mean, the stuff that happens to this couple on this trip will have you tickled pink (sorry, I had to!!). I will say it starts off just a little bit slow, but if you stick it out through the first 20 minutes or so, it really picks up and is well worth it!

Wine Country

OK, so I reviewed this one last…not because it wasn’t funny, or because technically it wasn’t a “rom-com”… but mainly because I think once you watch it, either you’re really going to love it, OR… you will think it was just, “meh”. I personally loved it. I mean, it has some of my favorite female comedians (Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler), and it was about wine and friendship! I mean that alone was enough to make me interested. I did find myself laughing a kind of low giggle throughout the majority of the movie, but I think because of the big-name actors, I was just expecting a little more! At any rate, not sure if I mentioned this, but I am a member of a “book club” (except we don’t read books!) we actually pick cliché girlie movies from Netflix, and meet up once a month and discuss our thoughts, and this was our first movie. The consensus of this movie was it was cute. It was funny!

So, there you have it… my top movie choices from the past few weeks! Comment below your thoughts, and if you have any movie suggestions (doesn’t have to be from Netflix) that you think I should watch and review!

Love you BYEeeee!!
