A BRUNCH TO REMEMBER: Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours
Am I the only one whose favorite meal of the day is brunch? Ok, I know… that sounds SO “bougie” but seriously, it really and truly is my favorite meal of the day. So much so that I served it at my wedding! It is for that very reason that I’m ALWAYS on the hunt for the best restaurants to brunch at in Atlanta. Last weekend my girlfriend suggested we go to Twisted Soul Cookhouse and Pour. Keep reading to find out about my experience!
Let me start by saying the decor was cute, simple, and mini… just the way I like it! After ooing and awing over how adorable this mini floral arrangement was, we didn’t waste anytime getting right into ordering… our drinks obviously, because first thing’s first, right? Our waiter suggested a moonshine flight and I also tried a Tito’s cocktail “fancied up”. Both AMAZING!
After taking care of priority number one we ordered the fresh cut French fries (you know these are my favorite), and the Jack Daniel’s Honey Pecan Wings. First, the French fries were AMAZING! They were basically like steak fries, but were cut almost paper thin! As for the wings…if you’re a person that enjoys trying different flavors, well definitely check these out. They were the perfect size, and the perfect amount of crispy. Not only that, the flavor’s of honey and pecan tasted wonderful together!
After a few more cocktails and witty conversation, we ordered our main course, Southern Marinate Fried Chicken, and 3 Cheese Macaroni with a Fried Collard Green Roll. This entree literally blew me away. It pretty much tasted like your grandma made it, but it was a healthy/clean version minus all the grease! So basically I would describe it as “fancy soul food”.
After enjoying our entree that truly tasted like a southern style home cooked meal, we studied the menu trying to figure out what dessert we should try… it was at that very moment the waiter stopped by our table with a warm basket of red velvet and sweet potato muffins. Needless to say, we decided against dessert and enjoyed these bit size baked goods! Oh how I wish I took some of these home with me to enjoy later!
Overall my experience at Twisted Soul Cookhouse and Pour was very pleasurable. The staff was very nice, accommodating and helpful for every single request you could think to make, and they seemed like they genuinely cared that you had a good experience. I love the nice “family feel” inside the restaurant, and am always so excited to see minority women owned businesses thriving. After we left, as if the visit hadn’t been amazing enough, I met a group of ladies that had just dined there as well and was able to connect and chat with them like they were old friends! This brunch was GREAT, and I can tell you without a doubt I will definitely be back!
